Tenant Parking Rules & Policies
PARKING PERMITS: All USC Area Tenants must have a Aluri Rentals Parking Permit (decal or sticker) and it must be displayed at all times. Parking permits will be distributed during move-in for all USC Area Tenants. Parking will be by CURRENT permit only, and therefore, any vehicle with an expired permit is subject to being towed from the parking lot at the vehicle owner’s expense. Permits will be distributed at move-in to all leased tenants who have filled out the online Parking Registration Form. When you receive your permit, please be sure to permanently affix the permit to the rear windshield not obscuring the permit in any way. Tenants will park only the vehicle(s) which have been authorized by management. Tenants are not allowed to sublet, transfer, exchange or lend other tenants their assigned space or permit. Parking permits supplied by Aluri Rentals shall remain the property of Aluri Rentals and must be displayed as requested, used as directed, and may not be mutilated in any manner. The serial number of the parking permit may not be obliterated. Loss or theft of parking permits must be reported to Aluri Rentals immediately. Any permits reported lost,stolen, or found on any unauthorized car will be confiscated and the illegal - vehicle will be subject to immediate towing. Aluri Rentals is entitled to charge a reasonable replacement fee when replacing lost or stolen permits. Fee for replacement of lost/stolen parking permits is ten ($25) dollars per vehicle.
TOWING: Unauthorized and/or improperly parked vehicles are subject to removal by towing at the owner’s expense. This includes blocking an access, yellow curbing, fire lanes, etc. Please be careful to park between the white lines so as not to encroach on adjacent spaces or occupy more than one space at a time. The towing company currently used is Absolute Towing 1000-A Buff Street, West Columbia, SC 29169. Notice of removal will be given to Tenant at move-in and one (1) warning posted on vehicle at the time of offence.
NON-LIABILITY: ALURI RENTALS IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGE OR LOSS TO TENANT’S MOTOR VEHICLE OR ITS CONTENTS. Understand this means that Aluri Rentals does not guarantee risk-free parking and cannot and will not accept responsibility if loss, theft, or damage occurs. (Tenants should not leave valuables in vehicle and lock vehicle at all times while parked at an Aluri Rentals property.)
VISITOR PARKING: Due to limited tenant parking, visitors are not allowed to park on properties during school year, only for move ins and move outs. There is no visitor parking. Unauthorized vehicles may be towed.
GETTING A NEW VEHICLE: If you purchase a new vehicle, you must notify the business office and register the vehicle to receive a new parking permit. IMPORTANT: YOU MUST RETURN YOUR OLD PARKING PERMIT EVEN IF THE OLD PARKING PERMIT HAS BEEN TORN OR DAMAGED. Parking Permits are not transferable from one vehicle to another Tenant must immediately notify manager: (1) If and when the license plate number is changed, (2) If and when vehicle is no longer owned by Tenant, (3) If and when Tenant first obtains the vehicle that is to be parked on Aluri Rentals property.
TEMPORARY VEHICLES: Occasionally the situation may arise when you will be using other vehicle(s) temporarily. In this situation, please notify the business office that you will be driving a vehicle temporarily. They will register the vehicle and provide you with a temporary parking permit. The business office may ask to see the vehicle registration. Commercial vehicles, trailers, motorhomes and buses owned or used by Tenants may not park on any property.
SHARING PARKING SPACES: Sharing parking is not allowed. Each vehicle must have its own parking permit permanently affixed to the rear windshield. Any vehicle found to be in the parking lot without a valid parking permit will be towed at the vehicle owner’s expense.
ENFORCING PARKING POLICIES: Parking lot managers are not authorized to make or allow any exceptions to these rules. Failure to adhere to any of our parking policies may lead to the towing of the vehicle at the owner's expense. Please understand that the parking rules and regulations are to prevent non-residents from using our parking to walk to campus.
NON-LEASED ROOMMATES/ADDITIONAL PERMITS: Depending on which property you are residing at, additional permits may be available. Please review your parking addendum for specific information.
